This is George. He lived in Africa.

這是喬治。他生活在非洲。

He was a good little monkey and always very curious.

他是一只很好的小猴子而且總是很好奇。

One day George saw a man.

He had on a large yellow straw hat.

The man saw George, too.

一天喬治看到一個男人。

他戴著一個大大的黃色草帽。

這個男人也看到了喬治。

"What a nice little monkey," he thought,

 "I would like to take him home with me."

“多好的小猴子??！”他想，

“我想把他帶回家?！?/span>

The man put his hat on the ground,

and of course George was curious.

He came down from the tree to look at the large yellow hat.

男人把他的帽子放在地上，喬治當然好奇了。

他從樹上下來仔細端詳這個黃色的大帽子。

The hat had been on the man's head.

George thought it would be nice to have it on his own head.

He picked it up and put it on.

帽子之前是戴在男人頭上的。

喬治覺得戴在他自己頭上也一定很棒。

他撿起帽子戴到了自己頭上。

The hat covered George's head.

He couldn’t see.

The man picked him up quickly and popped him into a bag.

George was caught.

帽子蓋住了喬治的腦袋。

他什么也看不到了。

男人拎起他迅速的裝進一個袋子里。

喬治被抓住了。

The man with the big yellow hat put George into a little boat,

and a sailor rowed them both across the water to a big ship.

George was sad, but he was still a little curious.

帶著黃色帽子的男人把喬治放進了一艘小船，

水手劃船把他們倆帶到了一艘大船。

喬治很傷心，但是他還是有一些好奇。

On the big ship, things began to happen.

The man took off the bag.

在大船上，故事開始發生了。

男人把袋子打開了。

George sat on a little stool and the man said,

"George, I am going to take you to a big Zoo in a big city. You will like it there.

Now run along and play, but don't get into trouble."

喬治坐在一個小凳子上，男人對他說，

“喬治，我準備把你帶到大城市的動物園里。

你會喜歡那兒的。

現在可以出去玩玩啦，但是別惹麻煩?！?/span>

George promised to be good.

 But it is easy for little monkeys to forget.

喬治保證會好好的。

但是小猴子總是比較健忘的。

On the deck he found some sea gulls.

He wondered how they could fly.

在甲板上他發現了許多海鷗。

他想知道他們是怎么飛的。

Finally he HAD to try.

最后他必須要試試。

It looked easy.

But - oh, what happened!

First this - and then this!

看起來很容易。

但是——哦，發生了什么！

 先是這樣——然后是這樣！（掉進了海里）

"WHERE IS GEORGE?"

The sailors looked and looked.

“喬治去哪了？”

水手們四處尋找。

At last they saw him struggling in the water,

and almost all tried out.

最后他們找到了正在水里掙扎的喬治，

他幾乎精疲力盡了。

"Man overboard!"

the sailor cried as they threw him a lifebelt.

“有人落水了！”

水手一邊喊著一邊扔給他一個救生圈。

George caught it and held on.

At last he was safe on board.

喬治緊緊抓住了救生圈。

最后他安全到了甲板。

After that, George was more careful to be a good monkey,

until at last the long trip was over.

在那之后，喬治就更加小心翼翼的做一只乖猴子，

直到這個漫長的旅途結束。

George said good-bye to the kind sailors,

and he and the man with the yellow hat walked off the ship on to the shore

 and on into the city to the man's house.

喬治跟好心的船員告別，

然后和戴黃帽子的男人下船上岸，

來到了男人位于城市的房子里。

After a good meal and a good pipe,

George felt very tired.

美美的飽餐一頓并抽了根煙之后，

喬治感覺非常疲憊。

He crawled into bed and fell asleep at once.

他爬上床馬上就睡著了。
