重點句型| Sentence Pattern

(1) There must be some misunderstanding

這其中一定有誤會。

遇到比較正式的場合，除了使用前面所介紹的"It's a misunderstanding."(這是個誤會。)或是"The whole thing is a misunderstanding." (這整件事都是個誤會。)之外，若在不確定但懷疑事件中有所誤會的情況下，可以利用這里介紹的這個句型。其中，misunderstanding 是可數也是不可數名詞。

.Mr. Morris, there must be so me  misunderstanding.

I'll find out what went wrong and get back to you soon

莫利斯先生，這其中一定有誤會。我會查出是哪里出了錯，并盡快回復您。

There must be some misunderstanding I's not like a decision Shirley would make.

這其中一定有誤會。這不像是雪莉會做的決定。

(2) It's not what you think.

事情不是你想的那樣。

這個句型通常在事件發生的現場，因擔心他人誤會或他人已有所誤會時使用。

Let me explain. lt's not what you think.

讓我解釋。事情不是你想的那樣。

.It's not what you think. | can explain it if you let me.

事情不是你想的那樣。如果你愿意我可以解釋。

(3) I mistake  ...

我弄錯、誤解.....

利用這個句型表達自己弄錯或是誤解了某事。

I mistook your signature and thought this document was from someone else,

我認錯了你的簽名，以為這份文件是從別人那來的。

I mistook the address so I was late.

我搞錯了地址所以遲到了。

若是要表達把人給誤認了的時候，可以用"I mistake A for B”的句型，表示“把A誤認為B”。

I mistook Allen for the manager and called him Mr. Harrison.

我把艾倫誤認成經理，并叫他哈里森先生。

(4) I didn't mean that/to...

我的意思不是.....

要解釋自己的本意并非如此時可以使用的句型。句子后面可以接that 引導從句或是不定式。

.I didn't mean that this project was not planned carefully

我的意思不是說這個方案的規劃不夠謹慎。

I didn't mean to oppose your idea I just wanted to bring my concern about it.

我不是要反對你的意見。我只是想要提出我對此的擔心，

(5) I'm just trying to...

我只是試著要......

這個句型適合用于向對方解釋自己當下所作所為的目的和動機。若是要解釋已經發生的事情，只要將動詞改為過去式was  即可。

I'm just trying to be objective here instead of taking sides.

我只是試著要保持客觀而不是站在誰的那一邊。

| was just trying to clarify the main problem instead of putting blames on anyone.

我當時只是試著要厘清主要的問題而不是要責怪任何人。

(6) It means (that)...

這是指.....

利用這個句型解釋一個事件、特殊名詞或是條件。1可以用明確清楚的主題來替換。

It means (that) we will have to receive the advance before sending you the file.

這是指我們必須先收到預付款項才能將檔案寄給你。

The sign over there means (that) smoking is not allowed in this building.

那招牌的意思是這棟大樓禁止吸煙。
