那么為什么要說dog days？

Dog days源于天狼星“Sirius”，又叫狗星“dog star”。天狼星是大犬座中最亮的恒星，也是全天最亮的恒星。16世紀羅馬天文學家發現，在每年最炎熱的這段時間，天狼星總是伴隨著太陽同時升起，他們認為是天狼星導致了炎熱的夏天，而天狼星的別號就是“The Dog Star”，民間就用了這個通俗的說法“Dog days”。英語中，把北半球7月初至8月中這段時期稱為“Dog days of Summer”。

如何用英文來表達“天氣熱“呢？
