一、端午節英語怎么說？

就是The Dragon Boat Festival 啦！

記起來還是挺容易，就是賽龍舟（Dragon Boat）的節日。

是中國古老的傳統節日，始于春秋戰國時期，至今已有2000多年歷史。

The Dragon Boat Festival, the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, has had a history of more than 2,000 years. It is usually in June in the Gregorian calendar.

二、端午節的由來

眾所周知，端午節的由來是中國古代一位滿腹才華的詩人屈原。

The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Qu Yuan.

他愛國愛民受人尊敬，卻由于被嫉妒而受到陷害，逐漸被皇帝冷落。

He was a good and respected man, but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor's court.

屈原由于無法得到重用，眼看著自己的國家淪陷，于是投江自盡。

Unable to regain the respect of the emperor, in his sorrow Qu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river.

汨羅江畔的百姓劃船在江中尋找他們尊敬愛戴的屈原，并且將米丟入汨羅江中，使屈原避免蛟龍的傷害。

The local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.

盡管他們當時并沒有找到屈原，但是他們的行為直到今天仍然被人們傳頌著。

Although they were unable to find Qu Yuan, their efforts are still commemorated today.

三、端午節慶祝方式

在端午節這天，全國各地都會舉辦龍舟比賽。為什么叫龍舟呢？因為這些龍舟的船身和船槳都代表了中國龍的傳統形象。

我們的傳統節日確實很難翻成英語，所以外國人就用各類節日的代表元素代替啦。端午既然有劃龍舟的傳統，那干脆叫Dragon Boat Festival吧。中秋雖然有個Mid Autumn Festival的學名，但其實也叫Mooncake Festival呢。

四、粽子英文怎么說？

粽子是用箬葉（ruò yè）包著的糯米團。

在中國的不同地方，粽子的糯米里有時候會混合甜的餡兒例如紅棗和紅豆，有時候會混合咸的餡兒例如咸肉。

餃子、餛飩、小籠包、湯圓叫dumpling，連粽子也叫sticky rice dumpling。中國的小點心太豐富啦！外國人懶得一一翻譯，干脆就把所有面粉、糯米里有餡兒的東西一概叫dumpling。
