故事一:
The Policeman and the Thief
Once, a new policeman caught a thief in a small town, and decided to bring him back to the police station in the city. On their way they came to a shop where bread was sold. “ We have no food, and we must be hungry after a while. Let me go into the shop and buy some bread for us. Wait here for me.” The thief said.
警察與小偷。一次, 一個新上任的警察在小鎮上抓住了一個小偷,他決定把這小偷押送到城里警察局去。在路上,他們路過了一家面包店?!拔覀儧]帶吃的,呆會兒肯定會餓的,讓我去給咱們買點面包。你在這等等我啊?!毙⊥嫡f道。
The policeman had to go back to the police station alone, and he was very unhappy.
警察不得不很郁悶的獨自回到了警察局
故事二:
Ducking into confession with a turkey in his arms, Brian said, "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. I stole this turkey to feed my family. Would you take it and settle my guilt?" 布萊恩抱著一只火雞,非常苦惱,他說:“原諒我,神父,我有罪。我偷來這只火雞給我家人吃。你能告慰我的罪嗎”
"Certainly not," said the Priest. "As penance, you must return it to the one from whom you stole it."
“當然不行,”神父說?!澳惚仨毎阉€回去,這樣才能贖罪。”
"I tried," Brian sobbed, "but he refused. Oh, Father, what should I do?"
“我試過了?!辈既R恩抽泣著,“但是他拒絕了。神父,我到底該怎么辦呢?”
"If what you say is true, then it is all right for you to keep it for your family."
“如果你說的是真的,那你就留著它吧?!?
Thanking the Priest, Brian hurried off.
謝過了神父,布萊恩跑開了。
When confession was over, the Priest returned to his residence. When he walked into the kitchen, he found that someone had stolen his turkey.
告誡會結束后 ,神父回到住處。當他走到廚房的時候,他發現火雞不見了。
